Jesús Quintero

Executive Producer & Artistic Director

 

Formally trained as an actor at the renowned Teatro Libre of Bogotá, Colombia, Jesús Quintero has more than 25 years of theatrical experience in more than 14 countries as an educator, director, producer and performer.

 

Quintero’s extensive experience includes meetings, collaborations, workshops and research with groups such as Regula Teatro and The Work Center of Jerzy Grotowski and Thomas Richards (Italy), the School of Russian Theatre (Moscow), Superior School of Dramatic Arts (Galicia – Spain), and Miami Theater Center.

 

An active member of Actors’ Equity Association in USA, Quintero currently serves as the Artistic Director of American Laboratory Theatre, an international school of theatre practice he founded in 2005.

 

Carolina Sa

Executive Producer & Education Director

 

Serving as education coordinator and performer with the Miami Theatre Center from 2007 to 2012, Ms. Sa has extensive experience in all aspects of theatre production, both on the stage and behind the scenes. Ms. Sa has also worked double-time as executive producer and teaching artist with JQ Studio in Miami, now American Laboratory Theatre, since 2007. She continues to share her love of the performing arts though teaching, producing, and performing. Working now as a Life-Skills Instructor at Monarch School, she balances her art, her work, and her family with perfect precision. Ms. Sa is dedicated to sharing her love of the performing arts with the community and beyond.

Julie Berreth

Directing Producer

 

A North Idaho native, Ms. Berreth has nearly 30 years of combined creative and production experience. Her extensive background includes radio broadcast production, commercial production, theatrical production, multi-media marketing and advertising, company branding, writing, and graphic design. In 2012, Ms. Berreth discovered the stage was the perfect way to combine her expertise into one endeavor. Serving as an executive producer with Sandpoint Onstage, she produced and promoted three sold-out productions, including two full-scale musicals. More recently, Ms. Berreth began working with American Laboratory Theatre as a directing producer, continuing her passion for live theatre and her community.

José Domingo Garzón

Theatre Director

Educator, award-winning playwright, author, and theatre director, Mr. Garzón has nearly a half-century of experience in theatre and the performing arts. Mr. Garzón has served in several key fine arts roles in Bogotá, Colombia, including the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, University Vice Chancellor and Rector Management for the National Pedagogical University. He is also a founding member of the training school of Teatro Libre in Colombia and co-author of the Degree of Performing Arts at the National Pedagogical University. Mr. Garzón is currently a Professor of Fine Art at the National Pedagogical University.

Pavel Antonov

International Photographer

Pavel Antonov, is a Russian/American photographer based in New York, who among many, is currently working as a fashion photographer for Conde NastPublications (covers and features in Vanity Fair, Vogue, Haprer’s Bazaar, ELLE, Marie Claire, New York times, Women's Wear Daily, DNR, FN, Time Out New York.) Beyond the commercial photography, Pavel is one of the world's most unique masters of theatre photography. Pavel worked with directors like Jerzy Grotowski,  Ingmar Bergman, is a frequent photographer at the Metropolitan Opera, Lincoln Center, St. Ann's Warehouse and many New York theaters; he is a frequent collaborator with the avant-garde directorRobert Wilsonsince 2001. As a celebrity photographer, Pavel's most famed project was a Vanity Fair special feature edition “Subject as Star” produced by Robert Wilson, with portrait series of celebrities like Brad Pitt, Sean Penn, Princess Caroline of Monaco, Winona Ryder. 

 

Over the past 30 years Pavel's solo exhibits spanned from Moscow to Zurich to New York. His recent multimedia event by Troika MultiArt "City Of Sand" with Pavel's unique vision of Burning Man in Moscow, Russia attracted attention from national media with current plans for a tour in China and Europe. A selection of these works was recently published as part of Wild Art, published by Joachim Pissarro and David Carrie.

Fernando Ángel Llera Rodríguez

Spaniard Director and Professor, Fernando Ángel Llera Rodríguez (Nando Llera), became a Superior Graduate in Dramatic Art for the Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático of Málaga (Spain) and makes the Curso de Aptitud Pedagógica for the Universidad of Málaga. He continues his academic career getting the Master in Scenic Arts for the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos of Madrid and obtaining a Doctorate in Sciences of the Education for the University of Santiago de Compostela.

 

His research is centered in the Commedia dell'arte, taking part in different courses and Stages, like the Scuola Internazionale dell'attore Comico de Antonio Fava (Reggio Emilia, Italy), in the Laboratory Internazionale della Maschera of Amleto & Donato Sartori (Padua, Italy), in the Academie Internationel das Arts du Spectacle of Carlo Boso (Paris, France) and with grand masters as Dario Fo, Enrico Bonavera, Claudia Contin and Ferrucio Merisi, among others. 

 

Since 2008, Nando Llera teaches Interpretation, specializing in Commedia dell’Arte in the Escuela Superior de Arte Dramática of Galicia.

Ximena Velásquez Sánchez

Visual Designer & Director

Ms. Velásquez Sánchez is a graduate of the Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano. With specialties in History and Modern and Contemporary Art Theory from the Universidad de los Andes, Ms. Velásquez Sánchez holds a Master’s Degree in Plastic and Visual Arts from the Colombian National University and is currently a tenured instructor, professor, and coordinator of photography in the Art Department at the Pontificia University Javeriana.

Alejandra Guarin Gutiérrez

Physical Movement Instructor

With nearly two decades of professional experience in the performing arts, Ms. Guarin Gutiérrez holds a Master’s Degree in Drama from Central University – Teatro Libre, Bogotá, Colombia and has worked as an instructor and performer in Europe, South America and the United States. Ms. Guarin Gutiérrez is currently a physical movement instructor at Central University/Teatro Libre de Bogotá, Colombia.

Ivan R. Lopez

Director, Actor, Adjunct Professor of Theatre FIU

 

Ivan R. Lopez is a Miami-born creative explorer. A theatre artist for over 15 years, Lopez is an Adjunct Professor of Theatre at Florida International University with an MFA in Acting from the National Theatre Conservatory and a BFA in Theatre from FIU. The co-founder of White Rose Miami, a professional theatre company, Lopez also shares his talent as part of the Big Apple Circus Professional Hospital Clown Program ‘Clown Care,’ performing weekly for children at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.
